Auger Torque’s innovative earthmoving attachments

The mast-based drilling rig from Auger Torque is designed for accurate, quick and efficient drilling of large quantities of equal diameter holes. It is suited to applications such as auger drilling and down-the-hole hammer applications, as well as pre-drilling for pile driving, dewatering, permanent retaining walls and auger cast piles.

The high-performance, hydraulically driven drilling rig is ideal for excavators between 12 and 15 t, with a torque range from 2,717 to 8,152 Nm. The rig can move from one project to the next with ease, and being excavator mounted offers a quicker and more cost-effective method compared to more specialised heavy equipment.

Other features of the drilling rig include: precision engineered gearbox and non-dislodgement shaft system; compatibility with various earth drill drive units, and it can also be equipped with different hitches for mounting on most common excavators; enhanced control, allowing for controlled accurate drilling of holes several meters deep; interchangeable hitch and auger assemblies, eliminating the need to remove the cable from the rig; high-grade lift system, featuring high tensile galvanised steel winch cable with spring tensioner assembly and easy access pulley grease point; and hose guide rail for neat hose connection.

In addition, Auger Torque offers its multipurpose mulcher for various applications, including ground clearance, tree and hedge trimming and removal, or just tackling over grown ditches. This attachment provides working widths of 1 m or 1.5 m, and can be used with 5- to 15-t excavators as well as skid steer loaders.

The mulcher is able to change its whole tooth drum quickly, instead of individual teeth (with tungsten, hammer and flail tooth options), saving a lot of time in the process. The unit is designed with a hinged cover to contain debris and enable easy access to the tooth drum.

The mulcher has a robust motor and also gearbox concealing the gears and bearings to prevent dust and dirt ingress. With solid heavy-duty steel construction, the unit is capable of handling the most rigorous mulching jobs. Its heavy-duty transmission belts are used to increase the service life by 15%, and its pressure and flow safety valve protects the motor from pressure spikes and excessive flow.

Two new earth drills have also been unveiled to extend the current Auger Torque range. The 65,000MAX is suitable for excavators between 21 and 45 t, and the 100,000MAX for excavators up to 50 t. Both attachments are designed for excellent reliability, with the larger of the two geared towards high torque applications such as pre-augering, foundation piles, screw pile installations, deep hole engineering and well boring.

The 65,000MAX and 100,000MAX are equipped with powerful hydraulic motors and an innovative planetary gearbox, giving high efficiency and extreme durability. With forged hood ears, hood pins are locked for extra security making it impossible for the hood to detach from the hitch. As such, the earth drills can be used in the toughest conditions.

They also feature the non-dislodgement shaft (NDS), a single-piece drive shaft assembled top down and locked into the earth drill housing. This design guarantees that the shaft will never fall out, resulting in a safer work environment not only for the operator but also for the surrounding workers.
