Singapore – The fourth edition of Geo Connect Asia (GCA) opened its doors today at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. The two-day event (March 6 and 7) and brings together industry-leading companies, government agencies, institutions and up-and-coming startups to explore the impact of geospatial technologies in Southeast Asia and further their role in fuelling economic growth and enriching lives.

GCA 2024 is held alongside co-located shows Drones & Uncrewed Asia, Digital Construction Asia and the inaugural Marine & Hydro Asia, which focus on the latest technologies relating to unmanned aerial vehicles, digital construction, and hydrospatial challenges, respectively.

Guest of Honour Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law, addressed attendees during the opening ceremony, which was graced by notable attendees from the Singapore Land Authority (SLA); Land Transport Authority; Health Security Agency of the United Kingdom; Lands Department of Hong Kong; Open Geospatial Consortium; and the Geospatial Information Agency of the Republic of Indonesia. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between SLA and the Ministry of Health’s Office for Healthcare Transformation (MOHT), fronted by Colin Low, Chief Executive of SLA and Dr Tan Weng Mooi, Director (Integrated Health Promotion) of MOHT, to enhance the Digital Local Connect initiative – a precinct-based digital resource guide designed to help residents access and navigate health and social services. Mr Colin Low also represented SLA to sign another MOU with SingHealth Community Hospitals, represented by Associate Professor Gan Wee Hoe, Chief Executive Officer of SingHealth Community Hospitals, to co-develop a living asset map of community assets and activities.
